Job Description


We have two businesses, GoProposal and WeAreMap owned by both James Ashford and Paul Barnes - Both work in very similar ways, working in the same office, and with lots of crossover in processes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed member of staff who can contribute positively to that culture and who wants to develop themselves and help to grow our companies.

GoProposal was founded by James Ashford who is a bestselling author, keynote speaker and thought leader.

MAP was founded by Paul Barnes,after being frustrated with what accountancy firms were delivering to their clients and with the environments they were creating for their most precious asset... their staff.

Your job would be to work with Paul and James to allow them to focus on the core activities in each business.


To provide a full level of support to the founders of both of our organisations. Including scheduling, correspondence, human resources, and meetings. To take responsibility and ownership of office organisation, project management, deadline compliance, and important documents within our Google Drive filing system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise and schedule meetings
  • Prepare meeting agendas, perform research for meetings, and take minutes during meetings
  • Book business travel arrangements, including flights, transportation, and accommodation for senior management and other staff members
  • Manage the diaries of the two founders
  • Communicate with Board Members, schedule Board Meetings and ensure all members of the board are clear about timing and location
  • Liaise with clients and office guests
  • Manage your own projects and follow-up with team members where required
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with other relevant departments, including marketing, client management, and accounting technicians
  • Liaise with other staff members on behalf of senior management
  • Handle minor HR and recruitment duties


At GoProposal & MAP, employees always begin with a 90 day engagement period. This is a chance for us to both prove we're the right fit for each other.

At the end of that 90 day period, the outcomes we would expect you to have achieved are:

  • A full understanding of how the GoProposal software works
  • For you to have watched, made notes on and understood all of the GoProposal training assets


Starting Salary of £20,000

You will receive a pay review after 1 year of employment.


Your holidays will be 20 days + UK bank holidays + 1 additional day off on your birthday.


Your normal working day is Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm, with a 1 hour lunch break

Your normal working location is 16 Blackfriars Street, Manchester, M3 5BQ

However you may be expected to join the team occasionally for conferences across the U.K. (All travel and accommodation will be covered by GoProposal).
