Assistant Business Intelligence Analyst

We are looking to recruit an Data analyst to join our group of companies at an exciting time in our development.

Reporting into the Senior Analyst, we are looking for someone who can come into our business, quickly understand what the business is about and the Management Information / KPIs that are needed to allow managers, at all levels, to run the business in the most efficient way as well as providing Management Information tools to support day to day operational reporting.

This is a new role, on induction we will give the successful candidate quality time within all relevant departments of the business and training on the operational systems so they fully understand the workings of the business.

We are looking for someone with a gut-feel for data that can not only provide the management information specified but who can discover new information and insights to add value.

About the role

  • Maintaining existing reporting suite and adjusting to address changing business requirements and objectives
  • Development of interactive reporting utilising Power BI / Excel / SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Development of appropriate MI to support current business and potential new business ventures
  • Provide management information support for Operational and other areas of the business
  • Provide ad-hoc reports on demand for the business often within a short timescale

About you

  • Passionate about discovering and solving problems
  • Demonstrable problem solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrable ability to present and summarise Management Information in a visually engaging way
  • Experience of working with large volumes of data using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of writing SQL extract queries, would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in presenting data
  • Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams including external resources
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently to tight deadlines with ability to priorities own workload

Technical Experience

  • MS Excel Advanced Level including linking to ODBC tables, Sorting, Grouping, Vlookup, Formulae, Pivot Tables, Graphs and Macros (VBA would be an advantage)
  • SQL Server queries, stored procedures and functions would be an advantage
  • Any experience with statistical methods would be an advantage
