Job Specification

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of business assets through managing day-to-day production and logistics in order to meet cost and quality targets.

Major Job Functions and Tasks:

  • Ensure safe and efficient working through operating the permit to work (PTW) procedure.
  • Liaise with Production Manager, Maintenance Manager, Engineer to ensure the production lines run efficiently and in line with target OEE.
  • Continually monitors Plant performance and reports and faults or breakdowns to the engineering team following the CMMS protocol.
  • Utilises CI such as quick Kaisan to ensure effective troubleshooting is documented accordingly.
  • Functional line management of the shift production team and day cleaning team, including daily/weekly work planning and longer-term individual and team improvement objectives.
  • responsible for out of hours (60% of the time) site security and asset integrity for both plant and offices. Acting as emergency incident controller in the event of any incident.
  • Identify, plan and priorities maintenance tasks, liaising with the engineering and other personnel to ensure safe and efficient working through operating the permit procedure.
  • Collaborate with group IT to ensure continuity on supporting IT/Automation topology, optimising performance of equipment.
  • To be responsible for the maintenance and QA of all plant instrumentation and control systems.
  • Execute on line SPC and analytical tests and adjust plant-operating parameters in order to optimise plant rates and efficiencies. propose recommendations for line improvements
  • Be process controller for site labour during maintenance activities and shutdowns.
  • Adhere to health and safety objectives and ensure site procedures strictly followed by the team in line with site standards and safety improvement plan.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed

  • The ideal candidate will ideally possess the following skills and experience.
  • Qualified to a minimum HNC/HND level or equivalent in a related discipline or relative shift leader experience
  • Familiar with process control systems
  • Exposure to managing individuals and teams
  • Broad experience of plant operating systems and machinery
