Location: L337SS, Kirkby, Merseyside

Hours: Mon-Thurs 9am-5pm, Fri9am-2pm

MC Products is small Merseyside based company manufacturing and distributing tactical PPE equipment nationwide to security companies, emergency services and local councils. We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join our existing sales team with the aim of increasing new business.

The successful applicant will support the current sales team in generating and growing new business revenue from both new and existing channels. You will do this through face to face client presentations, proposals and tenders, pro-actively researching and identifying new business opportunities with the ability to support and complete invitation to tender documents.

The role will require you to promote excellent customer care, ensuring that income targets are exceeded and customer retention levels are maintained through successful re-negotiation of contracts whilst seeking to identify growth opportunities.

Main purpose of the role

  • Find new business for the company
  • To reach out and engage with existing customer base
  • To issue quotes and follow up all enquiries
  • To arrange and attend client meetings
  • To Develop, maintain and deliver a comprehensive, coherent, company wide marketing plan
  • To select and attend shows and exhibitions


  • Liaise with the design, estimating and production departments for sales quotes and contracts, ensure that any design is following the clients brief
  • Liaise with clients throughout the design process
  • Find and bid on new tendering opportunities for the company
  • Monitoring all emails into sales address
  • Issue and follow up all quotes and enquiries
  • Organise shows and exhibitions
  • Help organize and issue trade price list
  • Use and maintain in-house CRM system

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Educated to degree standard
  • Background or prior experience in tendering is essential
  • Previous experience working in a business development role with face to face customer contact
  • Proven track record of generating income from sales in a competitive price driven environment
  • Previous experience working within in a manufacturing environment preferred.
