Job title: Specialist Academic Coordinator Department: Education Contract: Permanent Salary: £20,000 per annum pro rata Location: York office, with regular regional travel Vacancy Details: Keyfort Group Ltd. works in close partnership with numerous universities and further education colleges, providing a comprehensive range of academic and community support packages to students. We put the student at the centre of the support they receive, encouraging independence and aiming to fulfil their ambitions and aspirations – real people providing real support to make a real difference to students. As a Specialist Academic Coordinator you will be responsible for planning and ensuring quality support packages are delivered to students on campus at University and College as well as in the home and within the community, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will work with individuals who may have physical and/or psychological needs; for example, neurological conditions, spinal injury, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health. The role will also involve overseeing support for students receiving Education support such as Note taking, Practical Support Assistance and Exam Support. A huge focus of the job role will be on the quality of support, supportive line management of staff and open and clear communication with service users and their next of kin. You’ll also train and allocate tasks to our Support Workers, assisting them in their continued personal development and ensuring they reach their full potential. Suitable candidates for the role will be observant, analytical, well-organised individuals with a caring attitude and a desire to improve the lives of others. You must possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to convey sensitive information to students, their families and colleagues. Job Requirements: You must hold a driving licence and have access to a car, hold a degree qualification in any subject area and have experience of working with vulnerable adults. You will be based at our Office in York however regular travel will be required to other venues in Yorkshire and our Head Office in Gateshead. Primarily, the hours will be between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday based in our York office, however the successful candidate must be flexible as some evening and weekend work will be required for team meetings or session cover, you may need to carry out personal care as part of this. You will also be a part of an on call management team and will be expected to take on call as part of a rota basis. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
