We are looking for a passionate individual with a joy for cooking to join our kitchen team. We are looking for individuals with the flare for catering who enjoy creating mouth-watering dishes for customers to enjoy.  This is a fantastic opportunity to learn in a busy café environment. We serve a Mediterranean menu with a focus on healthy eating.  There is no meat on our menu and everything is prepared from scratch using fresh ingredients and where possible using fresh produce from the kitchen garden at Larch Cottage.  The position includes a mixture of daytime shifts including weekends. Duties to include: Basic food preparation, Maintaining safety and hygiene, Plating food for service, Carrying out basic food preparation activities.  Desired skills  Willing to learn and follow instructions,  Able to work on own initiative and work as part of a team.  Personal qualities  Eager to learn and committed to learning,  Consistent approach to tasks and working methods,  Committed to deliver positive outcomes,  Reliable and trustworthy,  Passion for the industry,  High quality standards,  Proactive and curious,  High standards of personal hygiene  Desired qualifications  GCSEs A*-C or the equivalent in core subjects  Future prospects Depending on how well you work throughout your apprenticeship you may be taken on after and even get the chance to progress to the next level.

Granny Dowbekins in Pooley Bridge is a traditional English Tea Room with Riverside terrace with 200 covers, serving excellent breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas and cakes all day, every day.
