Support Worker – Peterlee “Passionate about working together to provide specialist services. Real people providing real support to make a real difference” North East Specialist Support Services are looking to recruit a Specialist Support Worker who is passionate about providing a quality service and whose priority is ensuring service users are reaching their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated and motivated team on our journey to becoming the provider of choice for both children and adults in their own homes and in the community. £7.75-£8.50 per hour after training. Double Pay for bank holiday working. Paid Care Certificate Training and DBS check. Full time & Part Time hours (12 hr shifts). Regular -12 hr waking night shift 7.30pm - 7.30am (including weekends) Occasional - 12 hr day shift 7.30am - 7.30pm (including weekends) Guaranteed hours contracts available. Permanent Rolling Rota, working with the same Service User(s) week to week. On-going support, training and development opportunities. You will be part of a team providing the service user with continuous 2 to1 24 hr support. We are looking for support workers who can commit to the same sessions on a week by week basis to provide our service users with consistent and familiar support. Sessions are agreed in advance as a rolling shift pattern. All staff on this case are expected to cover waking nights and weekends, and flexibility is required to support colleagues to cover absence and holidays. Training From your first day you will be paid to go through our accredited training course which includes the care certificate alongside bespoke elements designed to help you provide a world class service. Each of the individuals we work with have their own training programme which they have often helped to design. After you have completed this you will receive on the job training from an experienced support worker until you feel comfortable to go solo. When you are on session you will be supported 24 hours a day by an on call system managed by experienced members of the office team. Experience Experience in any of the following areas would be an advantage but not essential: Physical disabilities. Neurological conditions. Brain injuries. Communication difficulties. Physiotherapy exercise routines. Medication handling. Managing challenging behaviour. Psychological skills e.g. anxiety reduction. Interviews take place on 09/05/2018 and training will be 22-24/05/2018. Interviews and training take place at our Gateshead Team Valley office.
