Travel Training Coordinator – Cheshire Regular regional travel will be required. 25hrs per week £17,763.20 per annum, pro rata. 6 month Fixed Term Contract. This will be reviewed and an extension may be possible. As a travel training Co-ordinator you will be responsible for planning and ensuring quality support packages are delivered to trainees, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The role will require the successful candidate to; Undertake assessments of potential candidates to assess their suitably for the training, complete risk assessments, and journey plans. Allocate work to travel training support workers and ensure students are signed off when they are able to travel independently. Work with individuals who may have physical and/or psychological needs; for example, neurological conditions, spinal injury, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health issues. Liaise with local partners and commissioners to update them on the contract and the individual cases. Assist with recruitment, training, staff supervisions, appraisals and observations. Co-ordinating sickness cover for sessions in times of staff sickness and may on occasion involve covering for the staff team. There may be opportunity to increase working hours by undertaking the role of the travel trainer. Suitable candidates for the role will be observant, analytical, well-organised individuals with a caring attitude and a desire to improve the lives of others. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and have the ability to convey sensitive information to trainees, their families, partners and colleagues.
