Job title: Specialist Support Coordinator Department: North East Specialist Support Services Contract: Permanent Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week) Salary: £20,000 per annum Location: Gateshead office based, with regular regional travel Vacancy Details: North East Specialist Support Services are looking to recruit a Specialist Support Coordinator who is passionate about providing a quality service and whose priority is ensuring service users and support workers are reaching their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated and motivated team on our journey to becoming the provider of choice for both children and adults in their own homes and in the community. The aim of this role is to coordinate support packages for children and adults who have disabilities to become more independent and to provide respite to their family members. A huge focus of the job role will be on the quality of support, supportive line management of staff and open and clear communication with service users and their next of kin. As a Specialist Support Coordinator you will manage a caseload of clients, working closely with external professionals and our amazing team of Support Workers in delivering person centred support. Every one of our service users are treated as individuals, therefore our support packages are created with the service user with as much input as possible. You will work with your service users and support worker teams to create and help to achieve each service users individual goals on their journey to independence and quality of life. As part of your role you will help shape our services, undertake risk assessments, goal setting and regular reviews with service users. You’ll also train and allocate tasks to our Support Workers too, assisting them in their continued personal development and ensuring they reach their full potential. A degree in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, social work or a related field or significant work experience working with vulnerable adults is essential for this position. The right individual for this role will be an excellent communicator, have brilliant attention to detail and will be highly organised, with a passion for helping others. Job Requirements: Primarily, the hours will be between 9 and 5 Monday to Friday based in our head office on Team valley, however the successful candidate must be flexible as some evening and weekend work will be required for staff training, team meetings or session cover.
